How to Create a Template in Photoshop
Collage templates have probably about a million uses for photographers. You can use them to create custom holiday cards or graduation announcements for your clients. They can be used simply to display a collection of photos on social media, or you can even use them to advertise upcoming mini-sessions. In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to make your own! Watch along as I explain how to create a template in Photoshop and use clipping masks to insert your photos into the spaces.

What a great tutorial – thanks so much! Even though I do things a little differently as far as transforming and clipping, etc. with the keyboard, it was easy to follow and very well explained.

The part about duplicating the boxes you went through so fast, drag here and double it up doesn’t make sense if you’ve never done this.
Hi Casey, so sorry for the confusion! To duplicate the boxes, I selected the layer I wanted to duplicate and then dragged it down to the bottom of my layers panel, right over the little icon that looks like a sheet of paper, then I let go. Once you let go, Photoshop will create a copy of that layer for you. I hope that helps! If you have any other questions, let me know. I’m happy to help!
