A Dramatic Photoshop Edit, Explained
Golden Hour is my favorite time to shoot, but when the sun goes down I often continue snapping away. “Blue Hour” isn’t quite as great light-wise, but it definitely adds mood. In this tutorial, I’ll walk you through the steps I took to create this dramatic Photoshop edit. I’ll show you how I started with a dark, “flat” image I took during Blue Hour, and added depth, dimension, and dramatic color using the One Fell Swoop Collection.

If you enjoyed this tutorial, but would like to learn how to edit without Actions, I’d love to invite you to join me for my online Photoshop course, The Photoshop Fanatic. It’s an easy-to-follow, go-at-your-own-pace course that teaches Photoshop from the very beginning. It begins with a walk-through explanation of the various tools, layers, and filters in the program. You’ll learn what they are, how to use them, and then we’ll build on that knowledge, working our way up to achieving full, in-depth edits with ease.
